Bahçeşehir University or commonly abbreviated as BAU is a private university located around the Bosphorus in Çırağan Caddesi, Beşiktaş, Istanbul. The Grand National Assembly of Turkey authorized the establishment of Bahçeşehir University by the Bahçeşehir Uğur Education Foundation in 1998.
